Working with Segments

Segments give you more flexibility than lists because they are dynamic. Instead of manually assigning leads, you create rules that automatically include or exclude contacts based on their attributes or behavior.

For example, you might build a segment for contacts whose birthday is coming up. As new contacts are added or their birthdays approach, they are automatically included in the segment, allowing you to send them personalized birthday greetings without any manual updates.

Segments can be based on many types of data, such as birthday, signup date, signup source, or information provided in a form. This makes them perfect for targeting smaller groups of people with highly relevant campaigns.

Because segments update in real time, they are especially useful for time-sensitive campaigns like birthday messages or for nurturing new leads. They let you focus on strategy and communication instead of data management.
